COMMUNICATIONS EXECUTIVE FOR THE DIOCESE OF SINGAPORE

Responsibilities:
Writing and Content Management
-  Responsible for the planning, creation and publishing of the Diocesan publications
-  Develop, write and edit communications collaterals, including official correspondences and social media content
-  Craft Bishop’s speeches, presentations and statements

Communications Strategies and Implementation
-  Play an essential role in conceptualizing and implementing communication strategies and campaigns and be the primary support to follow through on the work
-  Manage and update the content on various communication channels promptly
-  Create, maintain and manage the Diocesan communications work calendar
-  Liaison with all stakeholders to ensure content and materials to be featured on all Diocesan publications and social media platforms are collected in a timely and relevant fashion
-  Track analytics on communications campaigns

Public and Press Liaison
-  Responsible for production of press releases, press kits and handling press enquiries
-  Develop escalation protocols for managing communication crisis
-  Respond to queries, comments and feedback on social media & emails promptly

Collaterals and Archives
-  Maintain a communication archive of all Diocesan collaterals including photos and videos.
-  Source and maintain a list of preferred vendors
-  Responsible for the production, distribution and storage of collaterals within the Diocese and her related entities

Requirements:
-  Excellent written and oral communication skills
-  Good time & project management skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work within tight deadlines
-  Able to think strategically and identify ways to improve communication efforts
-  Able to maintain high level of integrity and competency in keeping confidentiality of information and related documents

Duties

We are looking for an HR Executive to manage our HR operations portfolio.

The HR Executive’s responsibilities may include managing HR operations in accordance to our policies and overseeing our hiring processes. The HR Executive should have an extensive background in Human Resources work and thorough knowledge of local employment laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage compensation and benefits portfolio i.e payroll and tax submissions etc.

Discipleship

CELL ZONE PASTORS FOR ST JOHN'S - ST MARGARET'S CHURCH

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

●      Develop and mentor Assistant Cell Zone Pastors, Cell Leaders and zone coordinators to work with unity of purpose in a sustained commitment to the common purpose of cells discipleship.
●      Identify, mentor and develop new Assistant Cell Zone Pastors and Cell Leaders in collaboration with the Spiritual Formation Group.
●      Mentor and help in cell multiplication.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities
·     Assist in the weekend services as Service Pastors, Assistant Service Pastor, Prayer Companion, Lay-reader or Host team.
·     Preach/teach at different settings when called upon.
·     Any other duties as assigned by Vicar’s Office.

FACILITY OFFICER FOR ST JOHN'S - ST MARGARET'S CHURCH

Primary duties and responsibilities

  • Support the Team Lead in planning and scheduling of maintenance and servicing contracts.
  • Provide oversight to ensure contractors working on site are doing work safely and in accordance with requirements of the service agreement or contract.
  • Carry out regular inspections of the building, services, and M&E equipment to ensure they are in serviceable condition, safe for use and secure.
  • Respond to site fire, medical and other emergencies as per established protocol.
  • Carry out regular inspections to maintain serviceability of emergency response equipment and ensure supplies are within expiry dates.
  • Support the various ministries in terms of booking and access to venues, and logistics as per established protocol including wakes, weddings, church wide events.

  • Support access control of facilities during a pandemic.

  • Min ITE education in engineering.
  • 3-5 yrs working experience in facilities operations and maintenance.
  • Familiar with building safety requirements, electrical & mechanical works.

WOMEN AND FAMILIES MINISTRY DIRECTOR FOR ST GEORGE'S CHURCH

She will also work with the vicar and church staff to provide pastoral care to our female and family church members.

Duties and Responsibilities
1.   Oversee Women’s Ministry events at St George’s Church.
2.   Support Women in the Life Groups Ministry.
3.   Work with the Children’s and Youth Directors to minister to families at St George’s and seek ways to engage with wider communities of families in Singapore.
4.   Provide pastoral support to families and women.
5.   Involvement in a proposed, new Saturday afternoon service and in at least one regular Sunday service.
6.   Assist in running courses.
7.   Involvement in weekly church staff meetings, monthly church prayer meetings and writing monthly reports for the Parochial Church Council (PCC).

Prerequisites
The successful applicant must be a committed evangelical Christian, a humble leader, pastorally warm, hardworking, faithful to the gospel and have already been fruitful in similar roles. Essential requirements include:
1.     High level of biblical and theological skills. Formal theological training is a strong advantage.
2.     Experience in reading the Bible one-to-one with people as a way to mentor others.
3.     Excellence in forming, supporting and working with teams of volunteers.

AUXILARY PRIEST OVERSEEING DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRY AT ST GEORGE'S CHURCH

The person will coordinate and lead the adult discipleship ministries and ministry initiatives.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Coordinating, developing and multiplying the Church’s Bible Study Groups (called Life Groups at St George’s) including training and supporting the leaders as well as helping raise new leaders.
  2. Coordinating courses for evangelism and discipleship of adults (Online and/or In Person) and training and support of leaders for these courses.
  3. Regular involvement in the 8am and/or 10:15 am Sunday Church Services (which includes preaching, leading and presiding at Communion)

YOUTH MINISTRY PASTORAL STAFF/ PASTOR AT ST ANDREW'S CATHEDRAL     

Job Purpose
The primary role as a Pastoral Staff or Pastor in the Youth Ministry, working under the supervision of the Head of the Next Gen Department, is to provide direction and oversight to the entire ministry of youths from secondary school to university. He/ she will work with a team of committed youth and young adult volunteers in building spiritual maturity among the youths and in integrating the youths into the community life of the Cathedral.  

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of youth volunteers in strategize the development and growth of the Youth Ministry.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of the youth service, small group curriculum, and special events e.g. Youth Sunday, annual youth camp, youth Alpha, ministry retreat.
  • Provide pastoral care, counselling and spiritual direction to youths
  • Integrate youths into the community life of the Cathedral especially when they transit into adulthood
  • Oversee the recruitment and equipping of youth and young adult volunteers
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to youth and/or parent when necessary.
  • Provide regular updates to all stakeholders e.g. staff, PCC, parents etc.
  • Strengthen the partnership with parents in the discipleship process of each youth.
  • Be an active member in the Next Gen Department and contribute towards the planning of a holistic spiritual development for the children, youths and young adults.

  • Passion to work with youths and to see them growing in their faith journey.
  • Proven ability to relate to youths and parents
  • Possess good interpersonal and leadership skill
  • Able to work on weekends

Job Purpose

EXECUTIVE OFFICER FOR ST ANDREW'S COMMUNITY CHAPEL

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Vicar of the Parish, the incumbent will be responsible for the operational matters for English and Chinese Congregation, Pastoral Care Services, and overall operations of the parish pertaining to Admin, HR, Finance, IT and Logistics. Job role includes, but not limited to: 

  • Support the Vicar in enhancing and perpetuating the parish’s culture of stewardship, hospital, mission and community life. 
  • Oversee various operational ministries (including Admin, HR, Finance, IT, Logistic etc) of the church as well as supervise a team of administrative staff. 
    • Accounts – prepare accounts payable and work with external Accountant to maintain financial books, monitor banking activities, submission of financial statements to related authorities and annual budgeting.  
    • HR – manage employees’ life-cycle from recruitment, performance management, salary processing and tax submission, employee welfare benefits and exit processing. 
    • Admin & Procurement – responsible for overall office administration from upkeeping of relevant contracts and price negotiation, membership database, event logistics and general insurances. 
    • IT – responsible for maintenance of IT equipments, software licenses and subscriptions.  
  • Supervise and Prepare management reports for Diocese, Parish, Annual General Meetings, Parochial Church Council (PCC), English Church Council (ECC), Chinese Church Council (CCC) etc 
  • Maintain the Master Church Calendar. 
  • Be the focal point to Pastoral Care Services team to provide administrative and logistics support for Chapel Services, as well as to St. Andrew Community Hospital and other parties to ensure alignment of work processes in facilities usage.

Reporting to the Executive Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for all administrative support to the parish, and also a focal point on administrative support to the Chinese Congregation (matrix reporting to Chinese Congregation Priest-in-charge). The role and responsibilities includes, but not limited to:

  • Provide reception support to church office - handling general enquiries through various communication channels
  • Coordinate Sunday service logistics support - registration, powerpoint presentation, pre-recording of services
  • Coordinate contents for Sunday Service bulletin, including simple translation from English to Chinese. designing and printing/uploading of E-Bulletin and distribution to members
  • Update of pastoral record for the Chaplains
  • Provide logistics and administrative support to adhoc church projects/programs
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports
  • Any other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum ‘O’ Level
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Words, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Able to read and write Chinese and simple English to communicate with Chinese-speaking congregants and translation of materials from English/Chinese.
  • Able to work on Sunday to support Sunday Service
  • Willingness to learn & a team player
