First of all, thank you for
considering to be an ACROSS volunteer!
HISTORY
The Anglican Crisis Relief Outreach & Support, Singapore (ACROSS)
was set up in 2002 as an extension arm of the Diocesan Mission
Board.
OBJECTIVE
The primary objective for ACROSS is to offer a Christian
response to crisis situations due to natural disasters (e.g.
earthquakes, tsunamis, typhoons, severe winters, droughts, etc.)
Natural disasters have been increasing in frequency and intensity.
These, unfortunately, will not abate but continue to plague the
world until Christ returns. Our response during such times is
important as it is an expression of God’s love for the suffering
people.
PROJECTS
Since its inception, ACROSS has participated in helping
countries like Mongolia (severe winter), Egypt (refugees from
Sudan), Iran (earthquake in Bam), Sri Lanka (tsunami), India
(tsunami), and Aceh (tsunami).
VOLUNTEERS
Future disasters are expected. Future relief projects, therefore,
will also be activated.
For them to be successful,
volunteers are one of the crucial factors (the others being prayer
and giving). Register with us so that we know we can count on you,
whether in going, giving or praying.
