As a provider of pre-school education in Singapore over the past 50 years, the Diocese of Singapore established St Andrew’s Centre for Early Childhood Education (SACeCe) to provide a total pre-school environment for teachers with the most up-to-date facilities, including a lab school for training and development, practice and research. A key differentiation is the equipping of teachers for laying the foundation of sound Christian values for character development and living.
The afternoon of Saturday, 21 May was therefore a happy and proud occasion for the students of SACeCe. Together with their family members and friends, they were attending their Graduation ceremony held at the Church of the Ascension. Hours of hard work and sacrifice were rewarded when nine mature students received the Fundamentals Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (English), a 60-hour course accredited by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) and a further 16 received the Diploma in Pre-School Education — Teaching (English), a 700-hour course, accredited by the Ministry of Education and MCYS….
