Wings of Hope
Simei Care Centre celebrates its volunteers with a yearly Thanksgiving Dinner. This year the theme of the celebrations was ‘Wings of Hope.’ The staff and clients of the Centre expressed their gratitude to the many volunteers who have selflessly given of time, talent and resources. As Steven Ting, Director of SCC observes, ‘Recovery [to full mental wellness and reintegration into society] is a gradual process and baby steps must be taken in their journey towards recovery. During the Dinner held on 13 January 2012, many staff and clients showed their appreciation through songs and dances. Two clients shared their touching stories paying tribute to the support they received from counsellors and volunteers.
