Appointment of Community Service Chaplains

Appointment of Community Service Chaplains

During our Synod Service on 13 May, the chaplains for the community services were officially appointed. A chaplain in the community services is called to shepherd the staff, the volunteers, the caregivers and the needy under the Diocesan care. As a father in God, he is to be an example of spiritual devotion that inspires and sustains our sacrificial service. He is to lead those who are so drawn by the Holy Spirit into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In prayer, and through Word and Sacrament, he is to diligently nourish the people of God with the gifts of God. In so doing, he leads the faithful to live out the life of God in the public arena.

The chaplains are:

  1. The Revd Canon Wong Tak Meng as Senior Chaplain and Chaplain to Simei Care Centre;
  2. The Revd King Chiew Kwang as Chaplain to Hougang Care Centre;
  3. The Revd Eric Yong as Chaplain to St Andrew’s Community Hospital;
  4. The Revd David Teo as Chaplain to St Andrew’s Autism Centre;
